How to keep your cat entertained

April 9, 2023

I've been an indoor cat parent for almost 9 years, a friend of many outdoor cats since childhood and I can tell you that cats love to be entertained. They'll do anything to get your attention, including sitting still in front of the TV or sitting on your lap while you read. There are many creative ways to entertain your cat, you can make sure that every minute spent with your feline friend is an enjoyable one—and even develop some new tricks for yourself!

Get them moving:

Cats are creatures of habit, so it's important to keep them active and moving. They need to be able to move around freely, which means you'll have to give them room for their own activity.

If your cat spends more than 20 minutes in one place at a time (like on your bed), then he or she needs exercise or else they will get bored and become destructive.

To get your cat moving, try using toys that surprise the animal with their movements or sounds—for example: a ball with bells inside that makes noise when tossed; rubber balls coated in peanut butter/cheese, etc...

Ask your cat what it wants to do:

Cats are very expressive, so if you pay attention to your cat and ask them what they want to do, it will be easier for them to communicate. They don't like being told what to do or having something forced on them. If the cat is allowed to choose its own activities, it will be much more likely that this activity will actually interest the animal and keep him/her happy!

Give them something safe to chew or lick:

If your cat is older and needs a little more stimulation, try out some catnip toys. These can be purchased at any pet store or online. They're basically just little balls of dried herb that makes cats go crazy! If you don't have access to any fresh herbs, then go ahead and use dried ones instead—it's still better than nothing!

Another option would be getting them an actual rawhide bone (or two) so they can really get their teeth into it without having anything harmful ingested by accident. You could also try giving them a rawhide stick with peanut butter on top since most cats love the taste of peanut butter; however this may make some cats sick so I wouldn't recommend trying this unless you know how much peanut butter has been used beforehand because otherwise there may be too much fat content which could cause stomach cramps in particular cases.

Play with them:

You can play with your cat. Cats love to be chased and pounced on, so games are great for them. They also like to play with toys, as long as they're cat safe, especially for teeth and gums, DIY mental stimulation for cats, puzzle feeder, walking on treadmill at very slow speed while holding onto their leash tightly so they don't get away, cat puzzles, cardboard boxes for them to hide/sleep, cat furniture to play around, etc..

Cats also enjoy playing with other indoor cats.

Let them explore new sights and sounds:

Cats are naturally curious creatures, so it's important to let them explore the world around them. You can do this by providing plenty of places for your cat to explore, such as a cat trees or scratching post. Cats love exploring new things and investigating everything they see. They also enjoy climbing up high in order to get a better view of their surroundings—this is perfect for cats that love playing with toys! Make sure there's something fun going on at all times.

Give them a friend:

If your cat is lonely, it may be time to bring home another feline. Cats are social animals, and they will enjoy having a friend around. A bored cat that's been alone for long periods of time can become depressed if they don't have someone else in the house with them—and this could lead to health issues later on down the road.

So how do you find a new friend? There are several ways:

  1. Adopt from a shelter or rescue group
  2. Ask someone who has experience caring for cats (like SuperrPets!)

Cats enjoy being entertained and will repay you by purring and snuggling:

Cats are intelligent and have a wide range of emotions. They enjoy being entertained and will repay you by purring and snuggling up to you when they're happy.

When cats get bored or frustrated, they can become depressed or angry. This is why it's important to keep them entertained—they need stimulation in order to be contented with life. In addition to playing with toys, consider providing your kitty with regular playtime outside the house (the best option). Cats also love their owners' attention!

Keeping cats entertained is the key to get rid of your cat's boredom. They love to be entertained as much as humans do. If you’re looking for a new way to keep your cat content, try some of these tips today!
